Award-winning photojournalist and filmmaker Trung Nghia was born in southern Vietnam. He has written newspaper articles since he was 12.

After finishing his Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, he worked for Tuoi Tre Dailynews - one of the largest newspapers in Vietnam - and has been accredited as an exclusive correspondent to cover many major events in the world such as APEC Leaders Summit, FIFA World Cup, UEFA Cup, Festival de Cannes, Miss Universe, Australian Open, F1 Grand Prix, etc.

Trung Nghia has won co-first National Journalist Awards in Vietnam in 2005 and international photography award. He has written several books and had many exhibitions as personal photography in Vietnam and Europe (at the Asia-Africa Institute Wien, Austria).

He is the founder and producer of Radio Program on Tuoi Tre News Online, listening audience of 30.000 per week. He is also the producer, director and host of "Showbiz Q&A", one of the popular TV shows in Vietnam.

Trung Nghia has travelled widely (Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, Middle East) and is now based in Melbourne (Australia).

In May 2011, Trung Nghia has won the Grand Video prize of the competition "Australia Through Your Eyes", co-organised by the Australia Embassy in Vietnam and the Vnexpress Dailynews, submitted with Trung Kien and Hung Anh.

In August 2011, a short documentary, "Brisbane, My Lover" by Trung Nghia, highlighting Vietnamese traditional dress, the Ao dai, screened first at Gardens Theatre, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.

The film features the landscapes, people of Brisbane and their peaceful lifestyle.

The spotlight of this documentary is the beauty and the charm of the Vietnamese Ao dai in Australia as well as efforts of Vietnamese students studying abroad in preserving and popularising the traditional culture of Vietnam among international friends through Ao dai of Vietnam.
